Omnivore Recordings ha anunciado que para el próximo mes sacará al mercado los dos mayores discos de la banda seminal del llamado college rock, Camper Van Beethoven, se trata de los legendarios "Our Beloved Revolutinonary Sweetheart" de 1988 el cual contenía el track clave "Eye Of Fatime" y "Key Lime Pie" de 1989 el cual contenía el genial cover de Status Quo "Pictures Of Matchstick Men", las nuevas reediciones vendrán en versiones expandidas en CD y vinilo de 180 gramos.
Ambas reediciones estarán disponibles el próximo 11 de febrero con bonus tracks, por ejemplo "Our Beloverd Revolutionary Sweetheart" contendrá 11 tracks adicionales, incluyendo una decena de cortes en directo, el vinilo no traerá ningún material de bono, a diferencia de "Key Lime Pie" que trae como novedad el track "Closing Theme" que aparece en el lado 4 de un 45 rpm que pide que se coloque cabal en el centro del disco la aguja para que pueda ser escuchado.
Como muchos sabrán, Camper Van Beethoven ha sido una de las más influyentes bandas del college rock como se le llamaba al rock alternativo entre mediados y finales de los 80's y que lograron gran impulso gracias a la fama de R.E.M. y de programas icónicos como 120 Minutes en la desaparecida MTV, de hecho todavía se mantienen vigentes, ya que el año pasado lanzaron su último disco de estudio "La Costa Perdida".
