The Reissue/Compilations: Fleetwood Mac Greatest Hits

Warner's 1988 Fleetwood Mac Greatest Hits compilation, which was released at the time to capitalise on the success of Tango in the Night, is now being reissued as a deluxe edition, on CD and vinyl, next month.

Originally, this was a 13-track compilation on vinyl, but the CD format delivered 17 tracks in a slightly re-jigged running order.

This new deluxe edition offers 23 tracks in total, although spreads these out across two discs. So CD 1 offers the original 13-track vinyl running order from 1988 and moves four tracks to CD 2 with six further bonus tracks.

Greatest Hits deluxe is released on 31 July 2026 via Rhino for US and Canada only. Rest of the World gets it on 28 August.

The Reissue: The Best & The Rest Of New Order

New Order's 1994 compilation The Best Of New Order will be combined with 1995 remix album The Rest Of New Order for a new limited edition 4CD set that adds unreleased and new-to-CD mixes.

The original "Best Of" compilation compiled seven-inch mixes of the band's hits from 1985 onwards, while adding four new '94 mixes. A year later the remix album was led by the Hardfloor Mix of "Blue Monday."

The audio for the new set has been remastered and while a 2CD edition is also available, most fans are going to be interested in the 4CD deluxe version with its unreleased mixes including the Hawtin Mix – Alternate Version 2 of "Blue Monday", a full length version of "1963 94" and the Eschreamer Mix of "True Faith 94". New to CD mixes include "World (Price of Dub)",  "True Faith (Sexy Disco Dub)" and "Regret (Sabres Low 'n' Slow)". The packaging looks to be the same as the Substance CD reissue.

As well as the 4CD and 2CD variants of what is now called The Best & The Rest Of New Order, the individual compilations are reissued on 2LP and 3LP sets respectively with remastered audio cut at Abbey Road.

All versions are released on 17 July 2026 via Warner Music.

News/Reissues: Pixies Complete B-Sides

Pixies have announced an expanded and remastered reissue of the 2001 compilation Complete B-Sides. The original set collected the bonus tracks from the indie-rock pioneers' classic first run of singles, with highlights including a raucous live cover of Laurel Near's "In Heaven (Lady In The Radiator Song)", originally taken from the 1988 single, "Gigantic"; the Kim Deal-sung "Into The White" (B-side of Here Comes Your Man, 1989); and a fantastic cover of Neil Young's "Winterlong", first released on Dig For Fire (1990).

Complete B-Sides: 1988-97 has been remastered from the original analogue tapes and includes an additional six live tracks. The first two – "Planet Of Sound" and "Tame" were originally released on the 1991 ‘Alec Empire’ single and were recorded at the band’s 26 July 1991 Brixton Academy gig. The remaining four bonus live tracks – "Debaser", "The Holiday Song".  "Cactus" and "Nimrod's Son" – were first released on the 1989 promo Pixies Live and were recorded on 10 August 1989 at Cabaret Metro, Chicago (they were also released as the 1997 EP Debaser: Live, released to promote the band’s Death To The Pixies compilation)

The reissue will be the first time Complete B-Sides has been reissued on vinyl – a 2LP set on either black or clear vinyl. It will also be available as a 2CD edition. And in keeping with the 2024 reissue of At The BBC, the artwork has been given a makeover, using photographs from the archive of Simon Larbalestier, the photographer responsible for the striking imagery on the band’s classic run of albums.

Complete B-Sides: 1988-97 will be released on 26 June via 4AD.

The 12-track collection features ten Pet Shop Boys’ recent remixes of songs by artists including Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Primal Scream, Paul Weller, Tina Turner, Claptone, Wolfgang Tillmans and more, as well as a remix of their own track ‘Dreamland’ featuring Olly Alexander.  

The Reissue: Bryan Ferry's "Bête Noire/Dylanesque" Reissues

Bryan Ferry's 1987 album Bête Noire will be reissued next month, alongside a release of his 2007 album Dylanesque.

Bête Noire was the follow up to 1985's magnificent Boys and Girls and was co-produced with Patrick Leonard. Johnny Marr was amongst the contributors to Bête Noire, whose singles were "The Right Stuff", "Kiss and Tell" and "Limbo". 

Incredible, only  "The Right Stuff" entered the UK top 40, peaking at No 37.

This appears to be mostly comprehensive, with the exception of a small number of "Limbo" versions, putting together for a listeneable running order. 

About Dylanesque, this was of course Ferry's tribute to the songwriting genius of Bob Dylan. Released in 2007, it's now reissued on red vinyl and CD with no bonus tracks.

Bête Noire and Dylanesque are reissued on 14 November 2025. The CDs are packaging in Japan-style mini-LP replicas.

The Reissue: Different Class 30th., Anniversary Edition

Pulp are to reissue Different Class next month, 30 years to the week since the original album was released.

The new 2CD and 4LP edition adds Pulp’s full headline performance from Glastonbury in 1995, four months before the album was released. It’s the first time their entire Glastonbury show has been issued, with ‘Common People’ the only previously issued song from the performance.

Overseen by Jarvis Cocker and Mark Webber, the main album has been remastered by Geoff Pesche at Abbey Road, who mastered the original version in 1995. Although Different Class has been repressed on vinyl regularly since 2011, the new 4LP set is the first time the original studio album has been pressed on two LPs, rather than just one, despite its 53-minute runtime.

Cocker said of the new pressing: "This 45rpm double album version of Different Class will make it sound a whole lot better. We were obsessed with the fact that this was our ‘Pop’ album. (We had finally achieved some ‘popularity’ when ‘Common People’ was a hit.) As everyone knows, all pop albums have 12 songs on them: six tracks per side."

The only problem: this took the running time of the record to 53 minutes. We were told this would compromise the audio quality of the vinyl record – but we were more bothered about not compromising the quality of our Pop Dream. Now, 30 years later, we are finally ready for Different Class to be heard in all its glory. Different class indeed.

The vinyl and CD editions both include a 28-page booklet featuring new interviews with the band discussing the making of the album, plus previously unseen photos by original sleeve photographers Rankin and Donald Milne.

Housed in a slipcase, the 4LP set also recreates the original 1995  "Choose your own sleeve" design, featuring six double-sided sleeve inserts of alternative cover options.

Initially a B-side of ‘Mis-Shapes’/’Sorted For Es And Wizz’, the 1995 Glastonbury performance of Common People was also previously part of Different Class’ only previous expanded reissue, when a 2CD was released in 2006. Its second CD housed 11 additional tracks, including demos of four unreleased songs, plus Mile End from the soundtrack of Trainspotting, the B-sides PTA and Ansaphone, a cover of Whiskey In The Jar and Nick Cave's remix of Disco 2000.

Cocker’s statement on the reissue concluded: "The Glastonbury performance in June 1995 will always be the most significant concert of Pulp's career. Three weeks after Common People hit No 2 in the national charts, the band filled in for The Stone Roses at the last minute. We played Sorted For Es & Wizz, Mis-Shapes and Disco 2000 – all receiving their live debut. This is first time the whole concert (including the long, drone-based intro) has been made available. Your chance to relive an historical moment."

The Reissue: Blur/The Great Escape 2LP

 

Blur will reissue their 1995 album The Great Escape on 2LP vinyl, in December. The 2LP set will be pressed on coloured vinyl (one LP is yellow, one turquoise) and has all-new front cover artwork (touch of Duran’s Paper Gods, going on there!).

The first LP is the album while the second features the B-sides from the various singles released at the time. This is a gatefold package with a gloss UV finish.

The Great Escape will be reissued on 12 December 2025, via Parlophone.

The Reissue: Mother Love Bone First Albums Reissues

The "Shine EP" and album Apple by Mother Love Bone, the short-lived Seattle band that helped to jump start the Grunge movement in the late '80s, will be reissued on CD and vinyl in September.

Mother Love Bone was fronted by vocalist Andrew Wood, with the other members being Jeff Ament, Bruce Fairweather, Stone Gossard and Greg Gilmore. Wood died, of a heroin overdose, between the EP coming out in March 1989 and the scheduled release of the Apple album, a year later. 

The band ended and the album was eventually released a few months later, in July 1990. Ament and Gossard would later form Pearl Jam with Mike McCready, all of whom had participated in the Temple of the Dog tribute project, from which emerged one eponymous album in early 1991.

Both the "Shine EP" and "Apple" feature remastered audio and coloured vinyl editions ("Hanbanero' orange and 'Opaque Sky' blue) are available via indie retail.

The Reissue: Crush 40th. Anniversary

OMD's 1985 album "Crush", will be reissued for its 40th anniversary in October. The band's sixth album features the singles "So In Love," and  "Secret", with the former reaching the top 30 of the charts on both sides of the Atlantic.

 

The album will be reissued as a 2CD deluxe edition featuring seven previously unreleased tracks newly mixed from the multi-tracks. These include four unheard songs. Additionally there’s B-sides and remixes. 

Andy McCluskey commented:  

The 40th anniversary re-release of Crush has been a wonderful opportunity for us to re-assess the album. 1985 was a period of great intensity with constant touring and time pressure in the studio, but we created a powerful collection of songs and lyrical themes. In hindsight, we made a much better album than we knew at the time. Two hit singles ‘So in Love’ and ‘Secret’ remain live set constants to this day.

The 2LP vinyl edition also features the seven unreleased tracks, but not the B-sides. The standard extended mix of "So In Love" is also omitted. Both formats include rare photos and comprehensive notes by journalist and author Jason Draper in conversation with Andy McCluskey.

Crush will be reissued on 10 October 2025, via UMR / Virgin.

The Reissue: (What's The Story) Morning Glory? 30th., Anniversary

Oasis would reissue their best-selling second album (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? for its 30th anniversary this year and that has been announced, for release this October.

The 3CD set issued back in 2014 included B-sides, demos, & live material. This new reissue uses the same remaster as 12 years ago but the bonus material is confined to new ‘unplugged’ versions of five tracks: ‘Cast No Shadow’, ‘Morning Glory’, ‘Wonderwall’, ‘Acquiesce’ and ‘Champagne Supernova’.

These new unplugged versions were produced and mixed by Noel Gallagher and Callum Marinho from the original master recordings at Noel’s studio, Lone Star Sound, in London. In other words, they are not new recordings. Noel has gone back to the multi-tracks and created them from Liam’s original vocals, removing music and adding acoustic instrumentation, where necessary.

Both single CD and 3LP variants feature the album, plus the five unplugged tracks. Revised artwork is by original sleeve designer Brian Cannon and there’s new sleeve notes, as well.

(What’s The Story) Morning Glory? will be reissued on 3 October 2025 via Big Brother Recordings.

The Reissue: Once Upon A Time 40th., Anniversary Box Set

After confirming the reissue back in January, Simple Minds have today announced that they will release a 40th anniversary 5CD set of their 1985 album Once Upon a Time, in October

This new box set is effectively a repackaged version of the out-of-print 2015 super deluxe but without the DVD (which included a 5.1 mix and promo videos). The content is as follows:

• CD 1 – The Album
• CD 2 – B-sides & Rarities
• CD 3 – B-sides / Extended Mixes
• CD 4 – Live In The City Of Light (Live From Le Zenith, Paris ’86)
• CD 5 – Live In The City Of Light (Live From Le Zenith, Paris ’86)

Unlike the ruby red vinyl LP reissue which is the only other physical format, the version of Once Upon a Time on CD 1 of the box set doesn’t feature "Don't You (Forget About Me)", although that is included on CD 2 in standard and extended mix variants. The box does feature the new artwork with the red on the front comes with a 36-page booklet with rare photos, interviews, and a track-by-track guide.

The ruby red vinyl edition is packaged in a gatefold sleeve and now features Don't You (Forget About Me) as the last track on the first side, making the album nine tracks instead of eight.

To celebrate 40 years, the album is now available as a ruby red vinyl in a gatefold sleeve, which includes ‘Don’t You (Forget About Me)’ on the tracklist for the first time ever. The gatefold spread features Anton Corbijn’s famous photo of the band taken at Live Aid in 1985.

Both formats of Once Upon a Time will not be released until 17 October 2025, which is exactly four days short of the exact 40 year anniversary.
