Rocktrospectiva: The Fine Debut Album By Jeanne Mas Turns 40

Released somewhere between February and March 1985, "Jeanne Mas" was the eponymously titled debut album from French pop singer Jeanne Mas. The music is entirely written by Romano Musumarra who also worked with artists such as Elsa Lunghini and Princess Stephanie of Monaco, the album spawned threesingles "Johnny Johnny, "Toute Première Fois" and "Coeur En Stéréo". 

In 1984, Jeanne Mas burst onto the scene with her prime hit "Toute première fois". Her androgynous look, energy, and unique voice immediately captivated audiences. The following year, she followed up with Johnny Johnny and finally with "Coeur En Stéréo". France was charmed by this mysterious and committed artist. But behind the spotlight, immense pressure weighed on her shoulders. She released albums and toured at a frantic pace.

The album peaked at No.5 for two months on the French Albums Chart and achieved Gold status, due the great singles, the sales exploded in all the different publishings brackets at the time, thanks to their three huge singles: "Toute première fois", "Cœur en stéréo" and "Johnny Johnny", which was a hit equally in the club scene.
