Released on 8 June 1984, "Camouflage" was Rod Stewart's 13th., studio album, and one of the weakness albums on his entire career but less worse that it was "Body Wishes", the album spawned four singles "Infatuation", "Trouble", "Some Guys Have All The Luck" & "All Right Now", the curiosity of this record was the reunion between Stewart and the guitar-icon Jeff Beck, who plays on several tracks, both were band members of The Jeff Beck Group in the 1960s.
So "Camouflage" was a little bit better that "Body Wishes", but if it wasn't for their big hits "Infatuation" and "Some Guys Have All The Luck" considered ready-made pop hits, the album would be another useless recording, if they're not the best tracks on the album. The problem with "Camouflage" was that the music buried under layers on synthesizers and drum machines, and despite Beck presence on the record especially in the guitar parts, result into a worst one that the awful "Body Wishes", only 8 tracks but it doesn't matter when you're focused on these two brilliant pop tracks.
Definitely "Infatuation" deserve a listen thanks of Beck's guitar solo and the riff well to the fore, the cover of Free "All Right Now" is fairly enough but after two listening you get bored, on the other hand "Some Guys Have All The Luck" is far beyond better and for many, this is the best track on the album so far and you can practically smell the 1980s style. "Can We Still Be Friend", "Bad For You", "Heart Is On The Line", and "Trouble" are just fillers.
The album received similar critics to its predecessor "body Wishes" except for certain critics that called it a relatively better return, in fact because of its stronger singles "Infatuation" and "Some Guys Have All The Luck".
