Pet Shop Boys acaba de anunciar que lanzará una nueva recopilación de grandes éxitos llamada Smash: The Singles 1985-2020, este nuevo recopilatorio incluirá nuevas remasterizaciones del 2023 y serán los 55 singles que el dueto ha lanzado hasta la fecha, empezando con "West End Girls de 1985 y finalizando con "I Don't Wanna" del 2022, casi todos los singles vienen en la recopilación aunque hay algunas omisiones como "How Can You Expect To Be Taken Seriously?" de 1991 incluida en "Behaviour" y "Burning The Heather" de "Hotspot" del 2020.
Los formatos a lanzarse serán los usuales 3CD+2Blu-ray, 6LP vinilo y 3CD sin el contenido en video, todos los singles son 7", además incluiran una edición especial de 6LP en vinilo blanco y una edición en triple cassette estas dos exclusivamente en la tienda del dueto.
Las ediciones 3CD+2Blu-ray tendrá todos los videos en blu-ray por primera vez, además de un segundo blu-ray que contendrá videos bono y lyric videos, algunos de ciertas canciones excluidas del audio principal con un total de 66 videos.
El dueto comentó que comenzaron a trabajar en un nuevo disco, aunque de momento siguen con fechas de su "Dreamworld" greatest hits tour, mientras tanto, a esperar este recopilatorio que será lanzado el próximo 16 de Junio vía Parlophone.
