New Music: Fanzine Made Of Flesh

Taken from the band's forthcoming album "The Bad Fire" to be released this 24 January, "Fanzine Made Of Flesh" is their latest video and single, Stuart Braithwaite says: "Fanzine Made Of Flesh' was written in Brooklyn when I was staying at Alex Kapranos's house in autumn 2023. In my head it sounds like a cross between ABBA, Swervedriver, and Kraftwerk though that might be ludicrous. It originally has a straight vocal but we ended up vocoding it on the last day of recording. It’s pretty different and I’m really happy with how it turned out.", the fantastic video was directed by Agnus Haus.

IN MEMORIAM DAVID JOHANSEN (19502-2025): The wiry, gravelly-voiced singer and last surviving member of the glam and protopunk band the New York Dolls who later performed as his campy, pompadoured alter ego, Buster Poindexter, has died. He was 75. Johansen died Friday at his home in New York City, Jeff Kilgour, a family spokesperson told The Associated Press. It was revealed in early 2025 that he had stage 4 cancer and a brain tumor. IN MEMORIAM GENE HACKMAN 1930-2025): Oscar-winning actor Gene Hackman and his wife appeared to have been dead for "quite a while" when the couple and their dog were found on Wednesday afternoon at their home in the US state of New Mexico, police say. Hackman, 95, was discovered in a side room near the kitchen of the house in Santa Fe, while his wife Betsy Arakawa, a 65-year-old classical pianist, was found in a bathroom. Authorities reported no signs of injury but deemed the deaths "suspicious enough" to investigate and have not ruled out foul play. No cause of death was given. IN MEMORIAM MICHELLE TRACHTENBERG (1985-2025): Trachtenberg was found unconscious and unresponsive Wednesday and determined dead by EMS officials. The NYPD said no criminal involvement is suspected and the investigation is ongoing.
